I really like this Piece! The dumping ground for bodies.
It feels like it would be the beginning of a movie.
Really drawing you in to the scene. Reminding you of how it feels to be submerged in water. When I see this i can hear the sound of water. But it's not cheery with birds chirping in the background, it's the endless dripping of echoing water. The lighting is just perfect too. All attention is on the bodies. Yet You still see the creeping fog on the top.
This photo tells a story. I love it a lot.
Well done :)

This is such a stunning work; great job!
I think that overall the best thing about it is the shock value and the resulting mood which is very well established; the overall feel is some macabre combination of darkness and death with light and the purity of life and water. Despite the despair conveyed through the floating, abandoned corpses, the clear water adds a touch of coldness and brings to mind the contrasting concepts of cleanliness, and even a baptism of sorts. It is this contrast that really makes the image for me in terms of concept.
Technically it is very good, too. Normally a crooked horizon would detract from an image, but here it contributes to the darkness of the scene by mimicking the slanted angles of a horror film. The wide depth of field is a little distracting with the landscape, because the landscape in the background might steal some of the attention from the bodies; some of the lighter parts of the background stand out and draw the eye away from the corpses as well, though not so much that it's too distracting. Also having at least one more body far in the background might have evened it out a bit; odd numbers in visual compositions draw the eye and a third would hint at others, suggesting there are more and more bodies in this river other than just these two; however this is a fairly minor issue.
All in all it's a really original horror/macabre piece that tells a great story and really pulls the viewer in and makes them think. Excellent work!

A bit creepy, but definitely powerful: a punch in my eyes.
After all you are right, soon or late we shall all float down that indifferent river towards Avernus, where "nox est perpetua una dormienda"...

You're welcome! I find it creepy in deed. Now that I think about it, it even feels like those moments in life when everything just happens the wrong way, and you're carried away...

Also, congrats for the well deserved DD!
